Storage, Backup and Automation Lead (EA-12515)

Our client is looking for a Storage, Backup & Automation Lead to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Lead design, deployment, management, and optimization of SAN/NAS storage environments (HPE, Dell EMC, NetApp, VMware vSAN, Cisco HyperFlex, etc.).
Oversee backup solutions (Rubrik or similar), replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery processes.
Conduct backup testing, recovery simulations, and data migration projects.
Plan capacity, forecast growth, optimize costs, and manage storage lifecycle.
Ensure storage security, compliance, and proper decommissioning of end-of-life hardware.
Deploy, configure, and optimize monitoring platforms (LogicMonitor, Dynatrace).
Develop automation scripts/workflows (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to improve efficiency and incident response.
Ensure real-time visibility into system health, performance, and security.
Integrate monitoring and automation with ITSM, SIEM, and reporting tools.
Maintain documentation, alerting strategies, playbooks, and dashboards.
Mentor L2 Support Analysts across storage, backup, monitoring, and automation areas.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.
Participate in audits, governance, service reviews, SLA reporting, and vendor management.
Stay up to date with emerging storage, backup, monitoring, and automation technologies.

Requirements:

Advanced knowledge of SAN and NAS architectures (e.g., HPE, Dell EMC, NetApp, VMware vSAN, Cisco HyperFlex or similar technologies).
Experience with monitoring tools, alert tuning, dashboards, and observability practices.
Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Strong understanding of fabric management (e.g., Cisco, Brocade).
Experience with provisioning, multipath configuration, zoning, and masking.
Expertise in replication technologies, snapshot management, and recovery testing.
Hands-on experience with enterprise backup platforms (e.g., Rubrik or comparable solutions), including application-consistent backups and disaster recovery simulations.
Proven experience in data migration, lifecycle management, and secure decommissioning.
Strong understanding of storage security and access control principles.
Capacity planning, cost optimisation, and forecasting skills.
Experience collaborating with infrastructure and database teams on throughput and restore planning.
Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
